Australia Singapore Cable break in Indonesian waters

Vocus, the cable's owner, reported a break on the Australia Singapore Cable between Anyer (Indonesia) and Singapore on 4 September. Vocus says the fault is in Indonesian waters, about 615 km from the Singapore landing station, and expects repairs to be completed on 4 November, after INDIGO-West is restored.

Impact

With INDIGO-West also out of service, both direct Perth–Singapore cables are down. Reports say traffic has been rerouted over other systems, including paths via Australia's east coast and the United States. Vocus restored Layer 2 Ethernet services on 11 September over an additional Singapore–Jakarta path.
