PPC-1 break cuts Madang–Sydney path

PNG DataCo says the PPC-1 cable path between Madang and Sydney is unavailable after a submarine cable break. Affected traffic is carried via Port Moresby on the Kumul Submarine Cable Network and the Coral Sea Cable System to Sydney. PNG DataCo and Vocus are assessing repair options at the current landing point and an alternative landing in the Kina Beach area, and whether the repair can be done while the cable ship is deployed for the Vanimo repair. No repair date has been given.
